Vickie graduated from Our Lady of the Lake College of Nursing in 1999 and brings more than 20 years of nursing experience to Bridgeway Hospice. She began her nursing career at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where she worked in the cardiology unit and developed a strong clinical foundation caring for patients with complex medical needs.

For over 15 years, Vickie dedicated her career to home health care, serving as a primary RN Case Manager and providing compassionate, hands-on care to patients in their homes. This experience allowed her to build meaningful relationships with patients and families while helping them navigate their healthcare journeys with dignity and support.

Vickie’s extensive background in home health made her transition into hospice care a natural one. Her passion for patient care, combined with her strong Christian faith, has guided her throughout her nursing career. She believes that caring for others during their greatest times of need is not only a profession but also a calling.

A lifelong resident of Plaquemine, Vickie is married to her husband of more than 31 years, Ernie Verret. Together, they have raised three children—Trey, Halie, and Abby—all of whom continue to reside in Iberville Parish. Reflecting on her role with Bridgeway Hospice, Vickie shares, "As a family, we are incredibly excited, proud, and blessed to be part of the Bridgeway Hospice family."
